With the development of radio technology, digital signal processing technology and the bus interface technology, the spectrum analyzer themselves are engaged in a rapid and profound change. In order to have greater test flexibility, stronger test system performance, lower test system investment and a longer test life,the spectrum analyzer developing to be modular becomes a trend.The PXI bus platform combines the rugged, modular, compact cPCI features. With the special synchronize trigger and the compatible features of software, the PXI bus is getting used more and more widely in the modular instrumentation interface bus.At first, the paper describes the overall framework of the PXI digital IF processing module, and then describes the PXI bus technology, on the basis of grasping the PXI bus specification and the PCI IP Core functions, I selected the PXI digital IF processing module interface implementation. This program take advantage of the Quartus II development platform, integrate the PCI IP core logic and PCI user logic in an FPGA, so that the interface can realize control commands and high-speed data transmission between the host computer and the underlying in the66M bus clock,64-bit data width environment. In Windows XP system, the underlying driver of the design is developed with WinDriver in order to complete the distribution of the digital processing module hardware resources, the creation and release of the equipment, and direct access to internal registers.In the end, the digital IF interface system design take full advantage of the high bandwidth and time division multiplexing of PXI bus, The host computer sends commands to the FPGA through the PXI bus, the FPGA upload the data to the PC through the PXI bus. The design has higher levels of integration and flexibility compared to the program of traditional dedicated interface chip together with FPGA chip.
