Yunnan, as China’s largest minority culture province, located in southwest China. Recent years, with the development of China’s economy, investments like school buildings and facilities were highly increased by the government, they do whatever they could in order to enhance minority culture training, heritage the excellent tradition of minority cultures, and promote the nationality unity. Despite from campus planning to its interior design of a varying scales, most of them shared a common fact that the new building and its interior space were too blind to pursuit or fit the so-called modern style, which lead the minority culture elements in the school building gradually disappeared. In other words, regional and minority characteristics were not get enough attention in these areas.As an architectural language, interior space is not only the deepening and continuation of architectural form, but also reflects the space characteristics and its culture. Good interior space design always tends to make local culture that is associated with building. According to psychology test color is the most sensitive element to human visual, and the color always has a crucial effect on a person’s mind. When people entering one building, the first thing he encounter is the color of space, which makes color design of the interior space significant. School building is the place where students growing and learning, so the color environment not only conveys a lot of information to the student, but also affects their mood and growth. So, when we come to a level that applying the traditional color elements to the interior space design of a minority middle school rather than focusing on the technology and materials itself, it means a lot.Subject combines with the case "Main Building Interior Design of Yunnan Nujiang Minority Middle School", which is a design that followed the modern design concepts, included minority culture express, and refined traditional colors on its interior space. Through field investigation and analysis of local Lisu culture, the author using the method of abstract and reference, to extract the traditional Lisu color elements applying in the design. Ensure that under the condition of construction is convenient, with the traditional color is connected to the local culture, on the premise of meet the function, pay attention to students’ psychological needs at the same time, We shall create a campus culture with regional and minority characteristics.
