Research On The Reform Of Beijing Courtyard Based On The Small Design-sized Studio Model

ABSTRACT:Nowadays, small-sized design studios have spring up in China with the government policy improved for business startups. In recent years, because of the phenomenon of design studios remodeled from courtyard appearing in Beijing Hutong, the problem of small-sized design studio cannot be fitted in the large space that remodeled from old industry plant could be solved. Therefore, this article aims to find out a way to let this new-style remodeled space satisfy the requirement of small-sized studio’s to adapt the socially. During this paper, firstly, understand the basic of this new-style remodeled space by analyzing the history of Beijing courtyard. Secondly, we get the advantages of the new-style remodeled space by comparing the culture, geological position and space feature between the remodeled space from old industry plant and of common-style and Beijing courtyard of new-style. Moreover, this paper summarizes three solutions through the problems that happened during the transform of function remodel into Beijing courtyard to studio in actual case. At last, this paper hope promotes the diversified development and inherits the historical culture of Beijing courtyard by rationalization the small-sized design studios remodeled from Beijing courtyard.
