Since ancient times,the main purpose of construction activities is to create the most suitable place of residence for human beings under the condition of consuming the minimum resource,and to find the most suitable way to balance human beings and nature,in addition to their symbiosis relationship. Experience of human activities for thousands of years will leave in history worthy of our heritage and carry forward the spirit and technology.As the world's historical and cultural city,Beijing has more than 3,000 years of history and 850 years of building history.Moreover,it is China's political, cultural and economic center,is also a concentration of courtyard- a traditional Chinese residential building construction.As China's traditional buildings' representative,the formation of these features is closely related to the Six Dynasties.because of the special status of political history.The nobles who were the long residences in Beijing had relatively high requirements towards home environments.In this point,it is good for the development and improvement of Beijing courtyard.In addition, geographical location,climatic characteristics and traditional culture also contributed to the unique architectural forms of courtyard.The development of unique architectural forms reflects the combination of society,economic,culture and nature.On the other hand,this architectural form provides an effective experience of improving the environment of building.So,the importance of research towards ecological study for courtyard of Beijing is without questioning.It is a reference for sustainable development of building environment and harmonious building forms.This thesis tries to analyze the Eco-philosophy and eco-technology of Beijing courtyard and its positive influence according to site visits,picture information,historical culture,Geographical location,Basic pattern, wind and water stress,the spatial pattern,structure,building materials,and construction techniques. This thesis consists of six parts.The first chapter is introduction part;it is concerned with background information of the thesis, object of study,investigation methods and the meaning of the research.In this part,we can also see the comparison between ecological constructions in home and abroad and the main structure of the thesis.Chapter two can be divided into two parts:summary of the geographical aspects and climate of Beijing residential courtyard,and gives an overview of historical development.The first part gives us a detailed description on topography,geomorphology and vegetation.The second part is about the detail information about history.The third chapter is mainly concerned with the investigation on thoughts of residence of Beijing courtyard.It begins with the influence of Confucianism,Taoism,feng shui theory,and then analyzes their concepts of ecology respectively.The fourth chapter is the most important part of the thesis.It starts from the overall layout of the Beijing courtyard.Then,it comes to the spatial pattern and ecological analysis.It also deepens the study on ecological characteristics of building construction and building material and find out the Eco-technology and strategy.The sublimation of part of the article is the fifth part.This part relates the Ecological thinking, eco-technology of Beijing courtyard with the modern technology and thoughts.On this basis,proposes residential courtyard ecological technology in the use of modern architecture and development.The sixth part is conclusion part.According to analysis,Beijing residential courtyard of ecological research hope that the energy crisis in today's society is more harmonious with nature and technology applications in the future is prospected.
