With the advent of the information society and knowledge economy era, the expansion of pre-school education and training of divergent thinking play an increasingly significant role in basic education. Kindergarten architecture is the main place for the implementation and operation of preschool education. It plays an essential role in developing intelligence and forming personality of young children, so the kindergarten space design should be fully integrated into the fun factor. This article utilizes the psychological theory of young children to explore the healthy growth environment of preschool children so that new ideas and new methods of kindergarten fun space design can be studied in depth.Upon the research of kindergarten architectures and case studies, this article summaries the theory of kindergarten fun space design and analyzes its origin and forms rich, variability, and innovative factors as three strategies for designing basic fun space from child’s psychology perspective. Then, the author proposes design details and methods of kindergarten fun space from five perspectives in terms of the overall design of kindergarten, activity cell design, public transport space design, themed space design and outdoor space design. Meanwhile, the article integrates kindergarten architectural design case from the author’s own practice, connects theory with practice, and further explains the optimization thinking of kindergarten space design. I hope this article could provide useful insights for the future kindergarten architectural design and provide more resources for the creation of an interesting novelty, healthy and comfortable space for kindergarten.
