Anren is a historic town which is a representative sample of mansion in the west of Sichuan province.In modern times when Chinese and western culture blended, there existed a lot of mansion which were not only combinations of Chinese and west-ern culture,but also full of regional characteristics. As a typical example of west Sichu an architecture, mansion reflected the social concept of architecture and the great improvement in architectural technology. Anren mansion, which was on the basis of traditional Chengdu mansion, absorbed a lot from the western construction culture. As a result, the original mansion of wooden structure turned into brick-wood structure, and external form of the architecture obviously reflected western culture style.This project is located in the historical old Anren. According to the plan, two houses will be built. So it is imperative to study Anren’mansion and Anren’architecture. By numerous investigations and surveys of modern Chengdu architecture and mansion in Anren, and combined with new development ideas of Anren and a systematically summary of the appearance, function, material, structure of mansion architecture, we have the theoretical knowledge and concept design to support us to accomplish this de sign concept.Through this thesis summarized in the layout of the building, summed up the mansion traditional courtyard can have some space evolution.
