Study On The Application Of Haikou Arcade Building Culture In Modern Interior Space Design

Haikou arcade buildings is the landmark in the flourishing economy of Haikou and carrying out foreign trade of Hainan, which plays an important role in the historical arena. Athough Haikou arcade buildings are not the birthplace of arcade building, Qiongzhou Strait between Guangzhou and Hainan island has not prevent the spread of the culture of arcade building. Haikou took the advantage of environment and based on the geographical position to develop its unique architectural culture while absorbing the characteristics from all over the world. The appearance of Haikou arcade is similar to Guangzhou, Fujian and other places, but the "beauty" of Haikou arcade building is presented silently. It recorded the aesthetic orientation by recombining of the Chinese and western pattern. The different monomers become the important city coordinates after beautifying by the household according to their will. The decoration and symbols of the construction in the Five Ridges are different, which will present its local characteristics. Haikou arcade building is one of the features in south of the Five Ridges. It is a serious issue for how to make the traditional culture develop and carry forward under the rapid economy time. The arcade will be developed to tourist area under the rapid economic era, and will become a mark presenting Haikou historical culture. When we build the mark we should know how to retrieval the existing architectural culture, and extract, deepen, compact and use it cleverly in the interior design. Haikou belongs to the tropics, and people incline to indoor-activities due to the climate reason. Then the design of interior space will be the best mark to show haikou arcade buildings culture. It is the focus of this paper how to use Haikou arcade culture in modern interior.The purpose of this paper is discussing the perfect combination of traditional culture and modern interior space design. Starting with the cultural connotation and construction form of Haikou arcade and comparing the characteristics of the arcade building from the time and region. Defining the the form of integration from the west and decoration of Chinese traditional patterns. Analyzing its content and method in detail. Studying and exploring its using method in modern interior design by examples. Hoping to express dense traditional culture and regional features, and presenting the interior spce atmosphere created by Haikou arcade building.
