The Application Of Modern Arcade Street In Guangzhou

The arcade is a symbol of Lingnan architectural culture,modern arcade recorded the prosperous history of Guangzhou commercial port.The traditional arcade still serves the life of Guangzhou citizens.In the modern buildings of the extension section of the Guangzhou Commercial Street,or in many high-rise residential areas,modern arcade appear in a more concise and spacious mode,continuing the use value of the previous concept of arcades,such as shading from the sun and rain,commercial extension,etc.,it also defines a new meaning in the context of the times.The streets of arcade road,overlooking Zhujiang New Town in the West,are typical examples of this.They are harmoniously integrated with six residential areas,namely Jing Huating,Boya Yuxuan,Poly xinyu,Shangdong Junyu,Huifeng Garden and Junfeng Garden,and they are good balance of urban and community services.In order to understand the mode and experience of the application of the modern arcade street in Guangzhou,this paper,through literature research,field investigation,screening and questionnaire survey,the advantages and disadvantages of Xingsheng road,a special street in arcade,are analyzed.In the part of its characteristic advantage,the article analyzes the case from the street level and the single building level from the whole to the part: The street level analyzes the spatial form,the layout connectivity and the distribution characteristics of the business form of the Arcade Street;Building level analysis in the space scale,space composite use and details of the layout of the characteristics.The study shows that the layout of Arcade Street on Xingsheng road is related to the residential area,maintaining the continuity and circularity of the pedestrian system,providing commercial form layout diversity,increasing the use of space compound,creating appropriate space scale and so on.It plays a very important role.In view of the Arcade Street,the insufficiency place,puts forward the optimization improvement proposal;for the superiority characteristic place,extracts the design experience strategy,and instructs the case optimization transformation,provides the good reference for us to re-examine the contemporary shophouse value.This paper is expected to sum up the design experience and strategy of Xingsheng road,and provide some thinking and inspiration for the modern high-rise residential building and the establishment of urban pedestrian friendly system.
