Research On The Architectural Style And Features Of Traditional Arcades In Hainan Island

The arcade,as one of the typical architectural forms in the Lingnan region of China,not only absorbs the culture of Western and Southeast Asian architecture,but also incorporates the characteristics of traditional Lingnan dwellings.The product of this combination of Chinese and Western is an important cultural brand in the Lingnan area and an important part of the traditional residences of Lingnan,which embodies extremely high artistic value,social value,and academic value.As one of the important objects of research on culture,dwellings and architecture in the Lingnan area,the arcade has attracted more and more attention from the academic circles.Hainan arcades have received far less attention than those in Guangdong,Fujian,and Guangxi.However,as an important hometown of overseas Chinese,Hainan also contains a lot of traditional arcade resources.Among them,the block scale and humanistic features of Haikou Arcade are well preserved,and they have been awarded the title of the first ten "Chinese Historic and Cultural Streets".Therefore,the academic research on Haikou Arcade is mainly based on Haikou Arcade.This article diverges the research objects of Hainan Arcades from Haikou Arcades to other cities and counties.By consulting relevant literature,field surveys,surveying and mapping,statistics and analysis,etc.,from the perspectives of Hainan Arcades’ distribution pattern,development sequence,building structure,decoration style,etc.Explore the cultural context behind the Hainan Arcade.This article will be divided into four main parts:(1)Introduction.This part puts forward the main ideas,including the research purpose and significance of this thesis,determining the research scope and main objects of the thesis,relevant research trends,research methods and innovations.(2)Taking the geographical distribution of the existing arcades in Hainan as the starting point,analyze the characteristics of their spatial distribution patterns and the reasons for their formation.Sort out relevant historical events in Hainan and the development sequence of arcades,and explore the motivations that promote the development of arcades in Hainan.(3)Explore the architectural space,plane and facade structure of Hainan’s traditional arcades through the four stages of the development of Hainan arcades.By decomposing the facade of the arcade into eight components,statistically classifying and expounding the various elements of the Hainan arcade.(4)According to the main transmission sources of Hainan arcades,the arcades in various regions are divided into different regions,and the characteristics and similarities and differences of arcades in each area of Hainan are summarized and classified,so as to explore the appearance of the unknown styles of arcades in Hainan and their cultural branches.
