At the same time, the modern arcade architectural culture protection and urban economic development construction are faced with severe test, therefore, how to "protect" and "use" became the the subject of the modem arcade agriculture building research institute.This paper adhering to the thought of "finding the problem-analizing problem-solving problem-demonstrating problem-summarizing problem", through the method of "accessing relevant information, field investigation, case and theory study" and in combination with characteristics of the construction of the modern arcade agriculture construction and characteristics of urban construction and development related by blood, fromthe whole arcade agriculture block and its environment of the old city, arcade agriculture block andsetting and arcade building three different levels to study current situation of modern arcade agriculture, including the study of modern architectural protective use over the overhang of planning and design and practice, it is concluded that the present problem in the material environment, setting control guide policy and planning design, and the reason for the existence of the problem. Then, the application of the machine renewing theory, design theory, the whole protection typology theory, building recycling theory as the guide, with the aid of modern buildings using relevant experience for reference of protective, in view of series problems of the current setting of modern architecture in modern city construction effectively guide and control in modern agriculture building of xiamen protective strategies, including laws and regulations policy and pertinence policy, and based on this, further from the overall level of the old city, and block or area level, and building level corresponding specific design strategy were put forward, hope to provide some methods and ideas for protective useof modern agriculture of xiamen, and at the same time, the application of the three different practical cases illustrate respectively as three different levels of strategy, and further demonstrates view.
