The nuclear power has plenty of advantages, such as environmental protection withlow-carbon, high reliability and low generating cost. Thus, as a kind of new energy, nuclear power can most probably change the Chinese energy structure. However, restricted by sitting of the coastal nuclear power plants, the development of the Chinesenuclear power will graduate from coastal plant to inland plant.Inland nuclear power construction project has the characters like high water intakeand using, high reliability requirement and subsiding water including low-levelradioactive wastewater. Siting of inland nuclear power plants is always restricted bywater resource conditions, especially the quantity of the receiving water which the lowlevel radioactive wastewater discharges into, and the restriction of the diffusionconditions. Nowadays in China, there is no inland nuclear power plant, Meanwhile, there is no water resource management policy aimed at the building and operatinginland nuclear power plant, and the technical requirements of water-draw and utilizationin nuclear power construction projects. Therefore, Chinese water resource managementand the development of inland nuclear power are facing a few problems—how to ensurethe water resource safety during construction and operation of the plans, how to clarifythe hydrological conditions of low level radioactive wastewater of inland nuclear powerplants, how to achieve the balanced and sustainable development between waterresource safety and inland nuclear power construction.Aiming at these problems, the influences of discharging low level radioactivewastewater were discussed in the dissertation through analysis of the water usingtechnics and demands of inland nuclear power planst, the prescription and requirementof low level radioactive wastewater. In addition, the indexing system of essential waterresource conditions in the siting phase of inland nuclear power plants was built up from4aspects, which include the water resources configuration and management, waterintake condition, hydrological conditions of the receiving waters of low level radioactiveliquid effluents, and water resources safety. The drainage schemes of a planned inlandnuclear power plant at every working condition were analyzed in this dissertation vianumerical simulating method. the flow field and density field under the conditions of90%runoff process and Hongze Lake’s steady flow circumstance were simulated andanalyzed, and the dispersion state of radioactive liquid in the lake of the inland nuclear power plant was also calculated in the dissertation. simulation results of the changeregulation of low radioactive wastewater in Hongze Lake, could provide reference forthe low radioactive wastewater drainage scheme for the inland nuclear power plant.
