With the fast construting of Chinese high-speed railway network, the quantity of EMU and EMU-Depot are increasing quickly. The charateristics of network using of EMUs are more and more remarkable. In addition, not only the basic application and maintenance constraints should be considerd, but also the different demand of EMU quantity from passinger flow of different times should be met. Therefore, EMU assignment and maintenance in China is a very complex problem and hard to be resolved. Aiming at this problem, it researched on the plan making model and algorithm on the basis of existing circulation plan of EMU. The main contents in the research included following several parts.(1) It summarized characteristics of EMU using and maintenance management from four aspects including management mode, application ways, maintenance criteria and its content, as well as the process of using and maintenance. It also made a detailed analysis of influence factors, concepts, content of integrated plan making and proposed a content architecture of the problem.(2) It proposed an idea for integrated plan making, which included two steps: recomposing optimization of EMU circulation plan and integrated plan making.(3) Recomposing optimization of EMU circulation was the basis of integrated plan making. The main task was mainly to preprocess circulation plan. The result is one of inputs of the next step, integrated plan making. To solve this problem, it established a model by taking criteria of first level maintenance as main constraints, minimizing the number of first level maintenance as object, and sovles the model with ILOG CPLEX.(4)To sovle integrated plan making problem, it firstly analyzed using and maintenance constraints, established a model by taking the output of last step and transportation resources data as the main inputs which took minimizing un-finished/over-finished distance, optimizing date arrangement of EMU using and maintenance, meeting passinger demands of different times as objects. Furthermore, according to characteristics of the problem, it proposed an algorithm on basis of ant colony algorithm. Finally, it established an evaluation index system.(5) The reseach designed and developed the integrated plan making computer-aided system by C#. The user could choose EMU-depot, EMU-type, planning cycle and the algorithm parameters by GUI. The system could help users to make optimized plan and show the plan in many kinds of types and dimesions, Finally, the research took CRH380A/AL EMUs plan making at Beijing West EMU-depot as an example to validate the theoretical methods and the system design.
