Research On The Riverfront Landscape Design In Northern Cities

Riverfront landscape is a landscape feature which has great vitality andchanges,meanwhile is also an ideal habitat corridor in a city.Riverside landscape has asignificant value in improving urban environment quality and enriching cityscape as animportant resource in urban development.Urban riverside space，as a special environment and the most alive public open spacein a city, which can provide water-enjoyable-environment and public lawn, and become thecarrier of urban social culture. In our country, the development prospect of urban riversidespace is very broad,integration of urban culture and tourism development is getting moreand more attention by various cities. Rapid economic development in today, how to createa landscape which meets the needs of urban economic, ecological and cultural combiningtheir own specific natural environment and historical culture,which should be one of theimportant themes in city construction for urban riverside space.The author did some research in many aspect direct at riverfront landscape design innorthern cities in this thesis.This thesis has been divided into five parts. The first chapter isIntroduction,this part mainly introduces the study’s background, purpose, significance, theexploration and development of urban riverfront landscape design both in China andabroad,it also points out the fact and some problems in waterfront landscape design innorthern Chinese cities.The second chapter discusses from the research thought and relateddiscipline theories. In the research thought,the author analyzes northern riversidelandscape design from "the northern","urban riverside space", and "landscapedesign",which makes the research more targeted and realizable.The third chapter is the outstanding image-building for northern urban riverfrontlandscape design,offers design goals and principles from the macro view. The fourthchapter explains three urban riverside space elements, urban river blue ribbon, riversidegreenbelt and riverside hard landscape respectively, as the main body of riversidelandscape design,riverside hard landscape is introduced detailedly from the riverside road,node design, riverside facilities.The fifth chapter puts forward some feasible methods andsuggestions mainly through the fieldwork for Fuhe park in Baoding,and hopes which canprovide some references for the northern urban riverside landscape design in the future.Epilogue part puts forward the outlook of the northern urban riverside spacelandscape design, and hope the studies in this thesis can provide certain references in howto improve the overall quality and give new vitality for the northern cities throughriverfront landscape design.
