Taking MAN B&W, Wartsila (SULZER) remote control systems widely used in container ships, oil tankers and bulk carriers as the study subject, this paper analyzes relevant literature of the main engineā€™s pneumatic control system at home and abroad, follows the latest research of relevant technology and bug diagnosis, and achieves the integration of electric-pneumatic control system based on MAN and Wartsila.The fruit of this paper is the main engineā€™s operation functions of MAN B&W and SULZER, including the logic control and rotational speed control. Logic control includes normal start, restart, repeated start, reversing, emergency reversing, braking and parking of the main engine under normal operating conditions. Rotational speed control includes engine orders sending, acceleration rate, program load limit, critical speed avoidance and electric-pneumatic conversion.The main innovative points of this paper include:(1) According to real shipsā€™main engine control process, the pneumatic logic units use modular and redundant structure, and can improve the utilization and reliability of pneumatic valves. The main engineā€™s pneumatic control system can have both MAN B&W and SULZER operating functions, and can be used for the simulation operation and teaching training of the main engine.(2) The composite control unit of MAN B&W+SULZER single chip, characterized with generality, interchangeability and versatility, can reduce the production and maintenance costs as well as spare parts. Each single chip composite control PCB plate has a unique address code and identification code, using integrated communication mode of I/O port custom communication protocol, serial asynchronous communication and IIC asynchronous communication, greatly reducing the complexity of the hardware interface circuit, optimizing the functions needed by the hardware through software, and improving the stability and reliability of the system.
