In this article,the status and developing trend of warship machinary automatization and main engine control system are analyzed,according as the technical desires which are prescriped in the technique rulebook,a design scheme of main engine control system is advanced. The main work is system design of the diesel engine controller as a subsystem in the main engine control system . The research focus on the following implementation:The moduluized design method is chose to carry into execution the scheme,the hardware circuits and control software design is the main task in this paper. The main functions of ECS includes:the control function of startup, shutdown, accelerate, speed-down, the function of controlling gearbox, as well as other function such as oiling limitation at any operation conditions, the information exchange, annexation function, man-machine dialogue, test of system function and fault warning function module were added.A monitor software was developed on the WindowsXP platform using DELPHI in order to monitor the control performance of the ECS. The monitor software provides the operators with a friendly user interface to watch the state of main engine and modify the governor system control parameters and DBR curve parameters. The software will also improve the operation and increase the reliability of power system on shipsAfter the strict examination,the functions and capability of the engine control subsystem are proved feasible and reliable, the engine controller can fulfils the the technical desires which are prescriped in the technique rulebook.
