| Recently, the shipping industry is growing rapidly all over the world. In such an environment, Chinese government introduces various related policies in order to keep up with the pace of the development of maritime power. Ship’s main engine is a important power plant. The way of achieving its optimal control is increasingly becoming an important issue in the development of the shipping industry. Main engine remote control system is a kind of remote control device for diesel engine. With the development of engine room automation and computer technology, it has become an essential part of the UMS specification. In this paper, with ARM core processor and embedded Linux operating systems, the marine main engine remote control system is designed and implemented. The communication between the main engine and the engine telegraph is completed as well as the setting of telegraph gears. The speed control and security protection to the main engine is also achieved. Besides, the function of human-computer interaction is realized.Firstly, based on the "Shipbuilding Industry Standards of the People’s Republic of China" and the "Classification Rules of Steel Sea-going Vessel", the overall design scheme and the main function of each section of the system are established, including the telegraph logic control system, main engine control panel, digital governor system, and safety system. Besides, the dual redundant CAN bus communication method is applied.Secondly, the system includes four sections. In the section of telegraph logic control system, telegraph features are completely designed. The setting of Telegraph gear, control right and sub-telegraph are accomplished, as well as the communication between bridge, ECR and local. In the section of main engine control panel, the design of main structure and function is accomplished, including the switch of interfaces, parameters display, parameters setting, sound and light alarm, alarm bomb box, alarm information storage and so on. In the section of digital governor unit, a series of speed limits and PID speed control function are achieved, and the simulation of the main engine speed control is realized. In the section of safety system, the slow down and shut down functions of main engine are achieved. The cancellation of slow down and shut down is realized through the control panel and function buttons. When testing the system, the result shows that the design of the remote control system achieves all of the design requirements, and meets the demands of the remote control standard.Finally, connected by the CAN bus communication network, each module of the main engine remote control system is transformed to the hardware platform. And so a complete remote control system is born. |
