High precision cameras provide precise visual measuring system for industrial production and make the visual measurement of orbit to become a reality in the field of aerospace. The optical axis direction of the lens is the key parameter to ensure whether the goal is aimed. However, the lens in the assembly process of production will probably make the deviation that optical axis and mechanical axis of the lens position error, so it is necessary to detect the error and its influence.Subject research based on analyzing high precision camera lens assembly process technology and the optical axis consistency test method, designed a set of camera lens’s optical axis deviation detection equipment which according to the main principle of auto-collimation. Research put the method which is in the aligning process into the late product inspection, design and process equipment system structure which cooperate with auxiliary error analysis software. So this equipment can realize to inspect the optical axis of camera lens.System core technology adopting shafting moving accuracy within3.5 "air flotation turntable as the reference axis, then take the space angle measurement between the rotation axis and the tube axis which in order to lead the optical axis of camera lens to high precision optical axis rotation axis of lens effectively. Using machine vision technology to capture the camera optical imaging and write software based on OSTU algorithm to capture true image and weed out false image. So as to achieve visual output in real-time measurement results and achieve the purpose of convenient for axis fitting operation. Taking pixel value as unit to identify and calculate error, so as to achieve accurate measurement and quantitative output result.Equipment can be applied to auxiliary cameras installed and the camera lens’s optical axis error detection of finished camera which is not suitable to detach. There is important significance in the field of aerospace for long-distance observation and target location and it’s also bring effective help to improve precision in long distance visual recognition control technology.The accuracy of the optical axis detection is within25". The accuracy can be further room to improve when the components selection and processing technology was improved.
