RenFeng district is located in the crossing of Yangzhou city relics between Ming and qingdynasties.At the same time, it is now the center of the city.As the oldest district in Yangzhou,Renfengli Witness the rise and fall of the city. With the development of social economy, greatchanges have taken place in people’s way of life. The district existing space does not meet theneeds of for production and living. The district faces a series of problems, such as aging ofbuilding and laging of social development. Although there are a lot of theory and practice ofurban renewal to be worthy of reference, but these experiences can’t copying intactly. On thepremise of the conservation of the historical and culture of the block, building quality andspace environment should be improved and the district should be designed to successivelydevelop against the background of the new era. This is the subject in urgent need of study.This research takes Renfengli district as the object of study. On the basis of reviewing thehistorical development and status quo of Renfengli district, the paper analyzes the problemsthe district is confronted with in the area of Land use, traffic, public Spaces and buildings. Thepaper analyzes The necessity and feasibility of the renewal of Renfengli district. Then the weCalculate the innovation potential of RenFeng district with the method of FAHP. It makesclear the orientation, principles and objectives of the renewal, In order to provide guidance andreference to the upgrading of the district and enrich the relevant theory.In the end of the paper, by examining the effect of the strategies in particular cases, thisthesis figures out problems emerging in the practice of the reconstruction of the Renfenlidistrict in Yangzhou and puts forward proposals for the improvement and adaptation of theexisting strategies.
