Forklift mast system is the key bearer. The experience is generally used to estimate the mechanical properties such as static strength and stiffness in the modern design. Therefore, The design of the major components is over conservative and the material property can not be optimized. In this thesis, three-dimensional parametric Solid Works software is used to build up the three-dimensional modeling of the structure of a battery rated lifting weight 3.6t forklift mast. The ANSYS finite element analysis statics and the modal analysis of the mast frame were performed. Finally the Workbench optimization is used to optimize the mast frame structure. Therefore, the lightweight mast is obtained to meet the requirement of the strength, stiffness and stability. A reasonable modern design for the mast frame design analysis is provided. The main research work and results are as follows:(1) On the bases of the forklift mast as the research object, each part of 3D modeling and assembly is performed using the three-dimensional software Solid Works. It makes the foundation for the finite element analysis and optimization of the forklift mast;(2) The finite element static analysis for the key components(fork, the inside mask frame, the outside mask frame) of the forklift mast is carried out Using the ANSYS software. The stress contours and the displacement deformation cloud is obtained. The reasonableness for the key components design is verified.(3) On the basis of the static analysis, the modal analysis of the door frame and its former five natural frequencies and mode shapes, are obtained. While the first natural mast frequency of 21. 35 Hz is higher than the road excitation of 20 Hz.Therefore, the resonance of the working forklift mast won’t happen with a reasonable gantry design.(4) To take reducing the door frame weight together with strength and stiffness requirements as an example, the ANSYS optimization module is used to optimize itsfinite element analysis. The results show that a good effect is obtained with a 20%weight reducement of the original mass...
