With the continuous development of culture and creative product in different countries and the need of social transformation, culture and creative product become an increasingly competitive industry on the international stage. As an important part of culture and creative product, museum obtains increasing attention around the world.However, more museums begin to open to the public for free in order to take more social responsibilities at the request of new time, which results in increasing cost and more operational problems. Therefore, current museum is faced up with the urgent problems that how to insure the basic social function of museum and how to sustain a stable development in the flood of economic growth. In the context of cultural and creative industry, In the context of cultural and creative industries, the emergence of cultural and creative products provides solutions for the museum development sustainability and alleviates the economic pressure of the museum to some extent, which becomes a new economic growth point.The museum has a rich collection of cultural relics, which means it is an important gathering center of culture resource, providing a unique resource advantages. Culture and creative products from different cultural resource not only make the antiques kept in museums more functional, practical, artistic as well as closer to common people’s life to meet the cultural needs from the public, but also spread the spiritual relics, historical significance, artistic value, and become the important carrier of inheriting, carrying forward and creating traditional culture.Therefore, the research focuses on the cultural and creative product design based on the museum resource and study primarily on the historical and artistic museum as an research object. Firstly, the paper discusses from the challenge and opportunity the museum face up, and then explores the origin, present situation and the common problems during the development process. Secondly, the paper makes a system analysis of museum resource theoretically and chooses the resource category suitable for culture and creativeproducts. Afterwards, the paper analyzes the advantages and influential elements based on the museum resource and provide certain direction for the development and design for the culture and creative products of museums. Finally, culture and creative products development experience and theory based on the Beijing Palace Museum, Taipei National Palace Museum, Shanghai Museum and Nanjing Museum successful product development experience and theoretical results. Aiming at the design museum in China set the development of products. To construct a contribute to the Museum of the cultural and creative system of basic theory of product development and design, in order to adapt to China’s cultural and creative industries and promote the development of the museum.Finally realize the maximum of Museum of social value, cultural value and economic value.
