Research On Islamic Architecture And Its Brick Carving Art Of Applied In Linxia

Linxia is one of the major ethnic enclaves of China, where lives Han nationality; Tibetan; Monguor and other 31 minorities, including the minorities who believes in Islamic, such as Dongxiang, Baoan and Salar etc. Linxia is the Islamic center in northwest China, Islamic in Linxia area is widely spread and far-reaching. There have not only Islamic “The Four Sects”: Qadim, Iknwan, Salafiyyah and Xidaotang, but also “Four Great Men-Huan”: Jahriyyah, Khufiyyah, Kubrawiyyah, Qadiriyah. In the history of Linxia area’s national development, meanwhile, it was influenced by the Chinese Han Confucianism and Islamic, creating distinctive Islamic culture and architecture.The mosque is the typical representative of Islamic culture and architecture in Linxia area, but there has another widespread and centuried Islamic architecture –Qubbah. Qubbah is collectively known as the Chinese Islam Sufism Sages tomb complex. Because Linxia is the birthplace of Chinese Islam Men-Huan, so, there are a number of Qubbah in this area. During the formation and development of Linxia Qubbah, both accepted Chinese traditional culture, and comply with Islamic religious buildings operational requirement, also, affected by the Linxia area traditional architectural forms, so that it has formed a very distinctive architectural style and religious culture. Meanwhile, Qubbah is Linxia Men-Huan Muslim maintaining the important link of social relations among each other; it is an important place for developing and spreading Islamic, too. That’s why Qubbah is the important real data of studying Linxia Islamic culture and architecture.Linxia brick carving is an important part of Linxia regional culture; it is one of the first batches of state-level non-material cultural heritage. It is widely used in Linxia traditional architecture of all ethnic groups. The brick carving of Qubbah inherited the characteristics of Chinese traditional brick carvings; also, it has rich Islamic cultural connotation, it’s an important part of Qubbah. The main building decoration is composed of the brick carving, woodcarving and painting, it is an important content of studying Islamic culture.This article takes Linxia Qubbah in Islamic architecture as the research object, using research methods of document analysis and field investigation, analyzing and studying Linxia Qubbah and its brick carving. Full-text 7 chapters, chapter one expounds the purpose and meaning of research Linxia Qubbah and brick carvings; chapter two and three mainly summarizes the origin and development of Linxia Islamic, Islamic architecture, Qubbah and brick carving; chapter four Detailed discusses and analyzes three typical Qubbah in Linxia; chapter five analyzes and summarizes the space and architectural characteristics of Qubbah; chapter six analyzes and summarizes the brick carvings art in Qubbah; the last chapter expounds the heritage and development of Linxia Qubbah and brick carving, hope that through the study of Qubbah and brick carvings art can promote the research of Linxia Islamic architecture and culture.
