Research On Historic Space Renewal Design Of Wanan Street Xiuning County Of Anhui Province

Wanan Old Street is a typical Hui business traditional old street. From the street location, layout, construction, decoration to the habits, custom and products, it is the perfect combination of material space form and ideology. Wanan Old Street is also the oldest, longest and most distinctive street, which has most complete appearance. Due to the specialty of the street, the country has a circulated proverb as "small Xiuning county, great Wanan Street ", to praise that Wanan Street is more prosperous than Xiuning county at that time. With the traditional “harmony between the heaven and human” geomancy theory as the instruction, site layout seeks harmony of human and natural environment. It pays attention to that under the “mountain, river, bridge, and tower” landscape style and features, pursues “small bridge, flowing water, beautiful house” typical water town style in the south of Anhui and the horizontal earth-people-environment development with the Heng River.In this paper, the research content of Wanan Old Street, Xiuning county, Anhui mainly includes three parts and five chapters.In the first part, it first analyzes Wanan Old Street and historic space in the area from the perspective of natural and historical background, and then explores the effects between these two.The second part has analyzed from global to local item about the elements of Wanan Old Street historic space, through the literature review and field research method such as surveying and mapping studies Wanan Old Street on the space form, street layout, water system space, node space, architectural layout, architectural details and so on, which makes Old Street have its own unique style formed in the specific environment.The third part has summarized existing problems of Wanan Old Street, and put forward three principles of protection. Finally, it puts forward the effective ways and means to protect and reuse the Old Street, which provides reference information for studies on Chinese traditional old street planning technology and practice.This article, through the study of Wanan Old Street, tries to explore the slowly disappeared form of the Huizhou ancient commercial street at the historical stage. This article has interpreted the natural and historical background, historical space situation and current problems of Wanan Old Street, analyzed historic space characteristics and the street forms layout of Wanan Old Street in detail and discussed how the ancient Anhui merchants used water transport to make the prosperity of commercial and residential Hui merchants old street, in order to better understand the traditional Hui merchants old street and promote the protection and development of the Hui merchants old street and cause the attention of more people to the traditional commercial street.Finally the article tries to discuss the continuation possibility of some specific practices in nowadays society of construction layout of Wanan Old Street.
