| In the renewal process of cities,the protection and renewal of historic districts have always been the hot topic.In all kinds of theories about the protection of historic districts,the theory "organic renewal" proposed by Professor Wu Liangyong is widely accepted by famous scholars at home and abroad.Professor Wu Liangyong once practiced his theory in the case of Juer Hutong in Beijing and it has become the essential theory for the renewal of historic districts.No matter the protection is to the whole historic cultural city or to a historic site,no matter the protection is in the form of demolition and reconstruction or museum,there are conflicts among the material space,social cultural space and commercial vitality during the renewal of historic districts.After reading a lot of literature materials,the author conducts an intensive study on the organic renewal theory and famous cases in China and other countries.Faced with problems existing in the current renewal of historic districts in Changsha City,the author tries to conclude feasible strategies by specific expansion on the connotations of organic renewal theory and apply the strategies to the transformation of historic districts in Changsha City.Besides,in order to verify the feasibility of organic renewal strategies in practice,the thesis shrinks the vantage point to the historic district of Chaozong Street in Changsha City.At present,the historic district of Chaozong Street in Changsha City is the only one that hasn’t been updated in high intensity in Changsha City.Chaozong Street belongs to the few districts mainly serving for residence,with great social neighborhood space and numerous historic relics.Therefore,from the angle of social space and cultural characteristics,the author wants to go a step further and find out the organic renewal strategies as guidance for the Chaozong Street so that the street can give off its unique vitality.Based on the above thought,the thesis is divided into five chapters.The first chapter is the introduction part,including the background,objects,current situation and purpose of the topic,research methods and main content as well as significance and value of the topic based on the current problems.The second chapter is the summary of relevant theories,including the basic theory and relevant theories about the transformation of historic districts and organic renewal protection.Such concepts include organic renewal theory of historic districts,and basic concepts of urban economics,urban cultural ecology,regional design theory,urban environmental psychology,architectural typology and architectural semiotics.The author also studies the connection between these concepts and historic districts protection and renewal.The third chapter is the discovery and analysis of problems,referring to the current situation and problems of the historic district transformation and organic renewal protection.The author conducts an intensive study on the existing problems in the organic renewal of historic districts in Changsha City and makes a summary of the essential contradiction.The forth chapter is about the organic renewal strategies of Chaozong Street.After analysis on the former understanding and research of the organic renewal theory of historic districts,the author carries out assessment of culture resources of the historic district of Chaozong Street in Changsha City and comes up with specific protection renewal strategy,execution guarantee strategy and social organization strategy.The protection renewal strategy is explained from three aspects:integration of material space,revitalization of economic industry and creation of life vitality.Complemented by the execution guarantee strategy and the social organization strategy,a completed set of organic renewal protection strategies for Chaozong Street of Changsha City is finally formed.The fifth chapter is about the practice.The author combines the theory with the project and points out the value and cultural significance of the historic district protection in Chaozong Street of Changsha City.While providing a completed set of renovation project to examine the feasibility of theory,the author also offers feasible guidance on the transformation of Chaozong Street.The author expects to propose concrete feasible plans for organic renewal theory and significant suggestions on the historic district renewal protection of Chaozong Street through this study. |
