Schedule management is one of the three goals of project control which has a significant role in the economic and social benefits of construction projects. It not only means the reasonable arrangement of progress to ensure the project completion on time, but also gives the time dimension for the control of cost, resource, quality and safety which benefits to a c all-round project management based on the schedule and tasks lap of the project. However, with the growing of construction industry, increasingly large and complicated construction project, equipment, electric power, pipeline and fire control linkage system internal structure, facilities of quantities accounted for over 40% of the total quantity of buildings, accordingly, interior design and building construction difficulty is increasing, the contractors engineers work coordination communication also become more difficult, which resulting in the progress of the traditional management software and methods cannot meet modern large-scale construction project management requirements. The appearance and development of BIM technology provides a new thought and method for modern project management. Currently, BIM technology has been gradually used in each stage of the project life cycle, but the construction phase of the applied research is still not mature, especially in the area of project schedule management study, which are few and the research range is narrow and strong theoretical but poor in practical application. So it is necessary to study how to apply BIM to schedule control and build a system with practical application value.Based on the reference of related literature and the analyzing of the traditional schedule management theory and method, the paper introduces BIM technology to solve the existing problem of schedule management and broaden the new method of schedule management. Through the in-depth analysis of BIM technology and related software, the paper firstly analyzes the application problem of BIM technology, then combined with Autodesk Revit and Project software explores the establishing process of 4D building information model. Secondly, the application framework and flow of project schedule management based on BIM are established, and working process is deeply described, and on the basis of analyzing the traditional process control software, explores the progress of the plan, schedule control based on BIM technology. Through building the construction monitoring and visualization center(CMVC), ensuring the lossless transmission of project schedule information, and raising the completeness and utilization of information, strengthening the dynamic control of the on-site construction phase,relying on BIM technology mode schedule and control techniques,the visualization project management progress control,inthe true sense of the dynamic progress of the on—site control is possible. Finally, on the basis of the above theoretical analysis, the paper introduces a case for empirical research, further proves the technical feasibility and application value of this thesis.
