Shipping container home originated in western countries and has been developing for more than fifty years. Both design concept and construction together with installation technology get close to maturity. It is necessary to learn the advanced technology and concept form western countries to form a adaptive solution according to national conditions and apply the knowledge to domestic projects for concerned participants.Summing up the above, the article explores the design strategy of shipping container homes from perspectives of interior design, framework design and environmental protection. Firstly, the author provides access to basic information of shipping containers; Secondly, features and advantages of shipping container homes are summed up by comparison between shipping container homes and common residence.
