Water transport is an important part of the transportation system. With the rapid development of economy and expanding international trade, its status and role in the comprehensive transportation system has become increasingly prominent.Rapid and efflciencient international transport of goods make large ships an irresistible trend of development, thus resulting series of questions:ship traffic increasing and traffic flow behavior characteristics becoming more and more complex. The balance between safety and efficiency of navigation has lost. These issues not only cause huge losses to the economy, but also become an factor of restricting the development of transport factors.Port is a complex, full-featured random service system, port size and efficiency of service directly affects the service level of the port.Because the ship coming to the port and woking time in the berth is random and port services is complex, port ships queuing problem is difficult to pass through the calculation to find a solution. System simulation method for traffic flow simulation,optimizing port berths and anchorages scale and vessel traffic organization is now widely used.This paper, based on traffic flow statistics, starting from the perspective of the system, as well as the rules of the constituent elements of the system are analyzed using queuing theory,established the M/M/N port vessel traffic flow queuing model. Ship traffic flow simulation system uses object-oriented programming ideas and the generic programming language Visual C++ as a compiled language. Achieving the dynamic simulation of the ship and all activities at the port of port services law on the electronic chartShip traffic flow simulation system records the details of the ship activities and anchorage process,by analyzing the behavioral characteristics of the ship traffic flow as well as the level of service port berths, anchorage service systems, draw the reason of causing queuing phonomy in the port and give the advice for optimizing the size of the port and the organization of vessel traffic.
