Research On Renovation Of Traditional Dwellings Within Contemporary Country Lifestyle

Beijing traditional compound yard, as the representative producs of the northern local-style dwelling houses, has the high value of the protection and inheritance. However, the traditional life style has been unable to meet the life demonds of modern residents. Under the influence of contemporary country lifestyle, spontaneous and congregate renovation are doing in full swing. But the characteristics of style and features of traditional dwellings are being destroyed as well with the process. Through combining the repeatedly meticulous research for 21 traditional villages of Beijing Yanqing, summary of issues for the present state of traditional dwellings, analysis of contemporary country lifestyle, and the organic renewal theory that professor Wu Liangyong had put forward, this paper aims to summarize out the technical measure and methods for renovation of traditional dwellings. We hope that we can not only inherite the scene and culture of traditional villages, but also improve the quality of life and meet whatever they need. Finally we can choose the suitable measure and methods from renovation of Yanqing area to use to other traditional villages in Beijing.The whole article is divided into six parts. The first chapter is the introduction. By participating in professor Ouyang Wen’s National Natural Science Fund Project ‘ Research on Inheritance and Innovation of the Characteristic of Style and Features in Beijing Traditional Village’, I put forward the purpose and significance of this paper. And through the study and comprehension of current theory and practice research in domestic and forgein, I confirm the development direction of this paper. The second chapter briefly describes the charactoristics and development between the traditional and contemporary country lifestyle. The third chapter describes the current situation of the visited villages in Beijing Yanqing, and analyse the courtyard layout, resident population, interior functions, life behavior steamlines, construction quality, living environment and so on by charts. I also need to analyse and summarize the reasons that lead to these current status, and determine the necessity of renovation. In the fourth chapter, I filter the objects that satisfy the conditions of renovation an first, and then put forward some specific renovation measure of traditional dwellings by mutual restraint of tradition and modern. The fifth chapter is to solve problems. According to the content of previous chapters and cases reference, I decide to mix the contemporary country lifestyle and traditional villages, and then take measures to update the traditional dwellings. Conclusion part emphasizes the importance of renovation of traditional dwellings within contamporary country lifestyle, and put forward the worries about the current status of the traditional dwellings.
