Marine Navigational Radar is one of the necessary equipment for ship navigation,which locates and tracks target by electromagnetic waves, and, Marine Navigational Radar plays a decisive role in navigation, especially in harsh environments. The use of Marine radar widened people’s horizons and ensured safety of the ship navigation. With the development of data acquisition technology, digital radar has developed rapidly, gradually being replacing the traditional analog radar. The precondition for realization of digital radar functions is quickly and accurately capturing the radar echo data. This paper designed a navigation radar signal acquisition card equipment,which is mainly used for small VTS system, small ships and marine simulator.Marine radar signal acquisition boards combines DSP and FPGA to acquire radar signal. The combination of DSP and FPGA constituted the rapid acquisition and transport channel, which Provides guarantee for radar echo acquisition processing. DSP is a special data processing chip, having the ability of fast data processing, as internal logic functions of Flexible FPGA can be configured in the system, which assisted DSP to manage their external equipment, supplying the gap of DSP. The FPGA of this device provides the clock for the AD chip, controls AD chip collects and transmits marine radar echo signals, converts the external interface logic, that give full play to its advantages of flexibility. DSP controls the entire hardware modules, processes, codes and transmits bow signal, trigger signal and echo of the video signal.This paper proposes an implementation for scheme marine radar signal acquisition system, designs the radar signal acquisition board equipment, realizes marine radar signal acquisition, processing and storage. This paper expounds the working principle of radar and various parts of radar, and analyses the ingredient and characteristics of radar signals to provide a theoretical basis for the collection of radar signals. This study designed the system data flow and architectures of hardware, elaborated on the various components of hardware and the circuit design of components, explained functions of acquisition board in hardware and software level. Finally, this paper tests the functional marine radar signal acquisition module board to work from experiment, proves radar signal acquisition boards can achieve the desired objectives and realize the radar signal acquisition and storage by comparing the results of experiment.
