In the current, due to the energy crisis, energy saving is one hot research topic. Therefore, BLDCM (Brushless Direct Current Motor) as an energy saving device is developing rapidly in recent years. In this study, based on the main features of the BLDCM in the market, a new further optimization kind of BLDCM was developed which was efficiency and lower cost. The contents of this study as follows:Firstly, the basic structure and working principle of BLDCM were expounded. Secondly, the three-phase winding conduction mode of HPS (Hall Position Sensors) was expounded, which is the basis of building the mathematical model of BLDCM, including differential equation and transfer function.After the analysis of BLDCM, the hardware circuit was designed for the running characteristic of BLDCM. Because of the consideration of the performance and the cost, STM8S903K was be chosen as the main control chip of the controller, and then the peripheral function circuit and drive circuit were designed centered the STM8S903K. Functional circuitry comprised the minimum system circuitry of STM8S903K, Hall detector circuit, switch signal detection circuit, speed-limit circuit, under-voltage detection circuit, brake circuit, and so on. The driver circuit comprised MOSFET protection circuit, upper arm drive circuit, and lower arm drive circuit.On the basis of the hardware, according to the control requirements of BLDCM, the program was designed. The program was made with the modularization design concept, which was divided into several small modules design including electronic commutation, stepless speed regulation, braking power, limiting protection, over-current protection, current compensation, locked-rotor protection, under-voltage protection, fault detection module, and so on.After the design of hardware and software, in view of the no-load and load the both cases of controller, the waveform and data associated were tested and analyzed. From the experiment results, motor could start smoothly and the parameters were in line with the control requirements, which met he performance control requirements of BLDCM...
