Nowadays global energy crisis and green house effect get worse and worse, people pay more attention to Electric Vehicles because of its convenience, low noise pollution and environment-friendly characteristics. A joint research has been did with professor Cheng-lin Gu , Huazhong University of Science and Technology. We developed a brushless motor drive system for the Suzhou Eagle Electric Vehicle Manufacturing Co., Ltd. This issue combined with modern CPU technology, digital technology and power electronics technology, we designed a sensorless brushless DC motor-driven vehicle wheel drive high-power controller.This issue used "horizontal flux brushless DC motor" for the controlled object, which is designed by professor Gu. At first, the mathematical model and the basic principles of the back-EMF (electromotive force) commutation of the brushless DC motor are analyzed, and then the whole control system on the various aspects was discussed and the overall design plan is made. In the issue, A DSP 2407A is used as a control core and the power of the inverter MOS device, for realizing the hardware system, and the system software was developed by C language. In view of the subject in the high current level of brushless DC motor applications, there is no precedent at home and abroad. In the research of the sensorless brushless motor starter and back-EMF zero-crossing detection, I made a substantial amount of research work and got a lot of useful research practices. Because of the process of motor starting position detection methods and some of the effective measures, operational performance and control features of the motor has been improved better and better.The experimental results show that the program is effective and feasible project design, developed by the Sensorless brushless DC motor controller design is expected to achieve basic performance indicators.
