Wheel hub electric vehicles such as high efficiency, energy saving, environmental protection, safety and more simplified mechanical structure have become the electric vehicles development direction in the future. Wheel motor as a direct power source for electric vehicles, its drive control technology is crucial, it is related to the vehicle performance of power, braking, ride comfort, energy saving and so on. In the dissertation, to choose the wheel hub motor as the research object, and carried out research on the wheel motor control system.Firstly, the dissertation describes the wheel hub electric vehicle development at home and abroad, and summarizes its development prospects and research significance. BLDCM is selected as the drive control object, it uses electronic commutation device to replace the traditional mechanical commutation system. Then the motor internal structure, working principle, mathematical models and operating characteristics have been described, proposed the wheel motor drive control system overall design solution based on the above.With modular design concept in the hardware circuit design, the whole hardware system includes control module, power module, power supply module and human-machine communication module. 9S08DZ60 chip is a Freescale 8-bit automotive microcontroller, it is the core of the system, its inherent CAN communication interface can directly communicate with the other vehicle controllers, meet the requirements of automotive network control. Driver chip of power module uses IRS26310, which can control the six power MOSFET simultaneously and with over current, under voltage and over temperature protection function, simple external circuit is convenient for application. In the system control, use the speed / current double closed-loop control mode to achieve the motor control, and achieve electronic commutation combined with the position information of the position sensors. Subsequently designed the CAN and RS232 communication interface and its communication software, PC monitoring software developed based on LabVIEW environment is used for system debugging, the dissertation introduces the LabVIEW development environment, and describes the development of human-computer interface in detail.Finally, in order to do control experiments and tests to the designed and developed wheel motor drive control circuit, a low-power electric motorcycle hub motor is selected as an experimental motor, through the experiment and test, the developed drive control circuit of wheel hub motor can complete the basic drive function, CAN communication is normal between motor drive controller and vehicle controllers, the motor controller can achieve the desired control requirements, but the motor control algorithms need to be further optimized.
