The Applied Research On The Process Approach In The Quality Management Of Construction Projects

The quality of construction projects matters vital to national well-being and the people’s livelihood, and significantly relates to the public’s health and their safety of life and property. The State Council presents clearly in Quality Development Program 2011-2020 that, the construction project quality should be comprehensivly promoted by 2020, the national key project quality will reach the international advanced level and people’s satisfaction to project quality will be improved significantly. However, many problems exit in the construction project implementation such as backward management means, reliance on quality assessment, monitor and completion approval, and short of systematic management and prevention measures. The project participants lack global awarenesss and neglect customer satisfaction. Sometimes they even sacrifice the quality for organization’s self-interests. To study and apply the scientific and efficient quality management approach is the effective measure to reduce the construction cost and also the representation of responsibility for the safety of people’s lives and property.This paper takes Yankuang Group’s 82kt/a prebaked anode project as a case, using the methods of system analysis, literature analysis and case analysis, and discusses the application of process approach in the quality management. According to the PDCA cycle principle, the IS09001 standard, and the GB/T50430 requirements, the quality management system is annalised and established in many aspects such as management responsibility, resource management, product achievement, and measurement, assessment and improvement. On this basis, this paper discusses in the planning stage the establishment of the project’s quality goal and organization, the allocation and definition of responsibilities, the allocation of construction people and equipments, the construction layout and the temporary facilities. In the implementation stage, it discusses the construction technology and the quality assessment. Corrective and preventive measures, internal audit and management review are discussed in the inspection and improvement stages.Yankuang 82kt/a prebaked anode project effectively controls the construction and ensures that the project quality meets the set quality goal by using the research results in this paper. The research results act as guidance and reference for the project management, promote the level of the quality control management of construction projects and ensure the project quality goal.
