Zhangzhou is a historic city of China, which is also an important city of The Economic Zone on the west side of the Straits, the largest ancestral home of the Han nationality in Taiwan. China’s urban development had been in a relatively independent system since the ban on maritime trade. Zhangzhou city construction process is a microcosm of the regional center city in the southern China, from a feudal system to the trade city, then the modern city. On the one hand, Zhangzhou’s construction experience was learned by Taiwan and Southeast Asia from the Ming Dynasty to the Republic of China; On the other hand, it is also affected by the Nanyang cultural and regional economy. In the process of evolution, MID-AXIS is the core of urban growth and a concentrated expression vectors. The study of Zhangzhou’s MID-AXIS, is to confirm the core part of the large urban space system, and through the study, we can understand the context of the city, and look for external incentives, find the inherent mechanisms. This study is to fill the vacancy in Zhangzhou city construction research, and provide practical information to urban planning and design in the use of MID-AXIS approach.Firstly, the information of Zhangzhou city’s construction is the basis. Studies MID-AXIS. Through domestic and international comparative and the actual construction of the case, to determine the academic definition of MID-AXIS. Base on that, structure the scope of this paper.Through collecting and collating data of Zhangzhou city construction, the second chapter summarizes that, Zhangzhou city MID-AXIS is formed in three stages, namely "Xianggang road MID-AXIS in Ming and Qing Dynasties, Yan’an road MID-AXIS, in early Public to the mid-90s, and, the victory Road MID-AXIS since 90s. And on this basis demonstrates the three periods city MID-AXIS graphics significance, describe the morphology and spatial elements of different periods of the city axis, combed Zhangzhou city construction and in the context of the evolution of the axis, and, determine the city MID-AXIS of the development process and path.On the basis of MID-AXIS of the division of the different stages of development, From the direction of culture propagation. The second chapter discusses the formation of Zhangzhou regional culture And the relationship between Zhangzhou city Mid-axis of the Central Plains urban construction. And compared with the city of Yilan, expounded on Zhangzhou city construction culture system. The paper form factor City MID-AXIS route directions are discussed. The fourth chapter from the region (Jiulong River Basin) perspective, find the elements impact of urban spatial form, determine the growth point (pole) of area space at different times. And outbound traffic through the development of analytical Zhangzhou city, surrounding the construction site and its external traffic situation. Elaborate external transport and regional growth point (pole) is how to play a role in the choice of the city MID-AXIS in the direction of the pathThe fifth chapter discusses and straightens out the evolution of MID-AXIS internal functions. Through the city boundaries, the city core area correlation analysis to explain the role of the MID-AXIS play in Zhangzhou city functions. And through the evolution of the various aspects of transportation, commerce, service organizations, public green spaces, land marker, Analyze the influence of the MID-AXIS in the evolution and replacement process.Based on the analysis of phasing, history factors, exeternal factors, intrenal action, the results of this study were classified summary. Conclusion contains two parts, one for Zhangzhou City MID-AXIS objective understanding of the development process, the second is the objective law of MID-AXIS development.and the possibility of Zhangzhou city Mid-axis.
