Study On The Type Transmutation Of Exhibition And Convention Building Facing To The City Development Of China

The exhibition and convention building in China has experienced a process of exogenous emergence to an endogenous development,due to a more and more important role in city's progress played by such kind of architectures and the problems caused by them.Based on typology,combing interdisciplinary,multiple philosophical and comprehensive research methods,the study want to give a explain to its evolution on different typologies through a series of investigation,analysis and extraction on modern exhibition and convention buildings of different periods.To anticipate for the future,deduction analysis and translation methodologies are employed in this paper.It also proposes conceptual design models of exhibition and convention building to meet China's national conditions.Linking theory to practice,the research will provide constructive strategy for the design of exhibition and convention building in the future.The first chapter gives an overview of the objective and scope of research;an introduction of overseas and domestic research status and its purpose in the exhibition and convention building,followed by a proposed framework for the research methodology employed in this paper.The research methodology in chapter two systematically introduces urban philosophy which contains fields of politics,economy,society and humanities,and architectural philosophy mainly on typology.It also analyzes different philosophies of interdisciplinary and multi-viewpoint,and build the appropriate framework system to which the research is constructed.Furthermore,two fundamental parts of typology-methodology: type extraction and type translation guide the following research overall.Considering how China's exhibition and convention buildings have undergone through a process of exogenous to endogenous development,this paper gives a concise introduction to the development of the major cities and exhibition and convention buildings in the world in chapter three,which provides a certain significant background of the research on domestic cities and exhibition and convention buildings in following chapters.The fourth and fifth chapter provides an analysis of case studies and typologies of theexhibition and convention building in the different modern times of China.According to the chronological order of historical phases of urban city development,this dissertation firstly introduces the ancient Chinese markets development in the fourth chapter.Particularly,it emphasizes the interaction between the markets and the cities,which plays a traceable and support role for the following research of the relationship between modern Chinese exhibition and convention building and urban cities.After that,this chapter discuss the domestic exhibitions with an overview of the urban development in early modern China(1900-1949),the middle period(1950-1979)and in the late time(1980-1999).The fifth chapter focuses on the development of Chinese cities and exhibitions from 2000 to date.These cases collection of exhibition and convention building are more plentiful and types of them have developed differently.In addition,the fifth chapter analyzes the interaction between urban development and exhibition and convention building from the aspects of location selection and Overall layout by analyzing its typological transformation.The sixth chapter is the part of the type extraction.Based on the cases analysis and conclusion of the exhibition and convention building in each modern times in the former two chapters,it firstly summarizes the rules and experiences of the location selection of exhibition and convention building.Secondly,it employs the typology theory to extract the types of exhibition and convention building in each period and analyse the different features in contrast between various types of them.The seventh chapter focuses on the type translation.First of all,by analyzing the types of the exhibition and convention building in the previous section,this paper try to summarize the context of its development facing the urban city development and then put forward corresponding conformal architecture concept model based on outlook for future exhibition and urban development.Finally,applying theoretical studies to reality,putting to use actual cases of projects to confirm the points of view in this dissertation.
