With the rapid development of China’s market economy and the continuous improvement of the economic system, the construction industry also tends to be more marketization, and the cost of the labor, building materials and engineering machinery of the construction industry increases continually. In addition, at present, the regulation strength of the estate market is increasing and the green building concept is advocated, which put forwards new requirements for the cost management of the construction project. How to improve the work efficiency and how to improve the quality of the cost management and the information management, which are issues urgently to be solved. But with the gradual evolution of the construction project delivery model, the poor cooperativity of the various project participants of the traditional construction management mode will lead to low efficiency of the project construction,increasingly unable to meet the needs of construction industry development, which has caused the backward cost management concept, the low informationization level and the poor collaborative sharing of the traditional management mode, bringing engineering cost management so much inconvenience. The emergence and the rapid development of Building Information Modeling (BIM) can give decision makers and participants of the project more convenient on the information management and collaborative management. As a kind of modern information technology platform, which can establish and utilize the parameterized model to realize the design, construction and operation management of the construction engineering project, BIM technology can not only realize the grasp of the whole construction process at a glance, coherent with the information management of the design stage, construction stage and operation stage, but also can realize the collaborative management among owners, contractors and operators, implementing the life cycle management of the project.The IPD (Integrated,Project, Delivery) collaboration management mode which is introduced by the concept of collaborative management is based on the trust and supported by BIM technology, not only realizing the change of the project management mode, but also improving the coordinated management between the project participants, which brings new revolutionary change to the cost management.Aiming at the problem in the project cost management; this paper combines BIM and collaborative concept first and expounds the advantage and the value of BIM in the cost management of the construction engineering project, and then elicits the IPD collaboration management mode with the help of collaborative concept. Through the comparison of the cost management organizational structure and information communication the aspects among BIM technology, IPD collaborative management mode and the traditional construction management mode, the advantage, value and necessity of the IPD mode in the cost management are concluded; On this basis, this paper analyzes the application of the cost management in each stage of the construction project under the BIM technology and IPD collaborative management mode in detail and researches the collaboration and the information management of every stage of the construction project cost management in the IPD collaborative management mode with the help of the engineering case BIM model. Then the paper analyzes obstacles of the application of BIM technology and IPD collaborative management mode in our country’s construction project cost management, and suggestions are put forward to solve these obstacles. Case simulation is the core of this paper. Finally the paper summarizes the significance of the BIM and IPD collaborative management model applied in the construction project cost management and makes a prospect of its application in engineering cost management in the future.
