For a long time, the transportation of children to school has always been a top priority of parents concerned about weight. From last two decades bike to public transport in the near future, all kinds of transportation and travel way draws a colorful picture of social development. The naive nature of children and poor safety awareness, road construction buried by irregular factors such as the road safety problems. In recent years, more and more schools choice school buses as the main way to transport children to and from school as means of transportation. As the safestmode of transporting students, school bus system has been used in a large scale in China. Research is more deeply on this subject in recent years, old school bus management system has a lot of defects, incident-handling capabilities and real-time monitoring function was unable to adapt to the demands.This thesis aims to design a school bus management system based on GIS/GPS. This system uses client/server architecture, Baidu Maps and API, as well as GPS positioning system. Respectively in the PC client and mobile client, we achieves models such as school districts, its routes delineated, basic features such as task orders, and smart device designed based on Baidu MAP with real time monitoring function, communication function with emergency function, effectively make up the traditional status of the bus system are not allowedto, the emergency response is not timely defect, effectively ensure the safety of students.The main innovations of this system is to have developed emergency management functions, can be kept informed in a timely manner and to contact the driver, so that emergencies can be dealt with promptly and in a timely manner. And it developed the Find nearest feature, when an emergency occurs and can search for the nearest driving to carry students, coverage of students to school on time. While developing the communication between client and mobile, making the communication two-way, the system is more flexible and convenient.
