Traffic condition decides the development level of a city, and plays a key role in improving citizens’ living standard and development of city’s economy. In recent years, a series of traffic problems such as traffic jam and inefficient logistic have forced State council to promulgate the Strategy of Bus priority. This paper, according to the current development of intelligent transportation systems and wireless communication technology in the field of urban transportation, proposes a kind of intelligent transportation system depend on the ZigBee technology. Moreover, it focuses on the research of the audio data transmission in the system.ZigBee technology is a low-cost, low-consumption network and it also has the strong capability of self-organization. The entire system scheme has been put forward through a detailed study of the ZigBee protocol, works and analysis of system’s requirements. The whole system, which uses the background of the current research on intelligent bus system based on ZigBee technology, has completed the study of audio data. The implementation of this system mainly includes two parts:the upper PC and lower PC. And the lower PC is used to collect and transmit data, the upper PC is used to receive and process data. All of communication in system is based on ZigBee network. And the data is transmitted through ZigBee network, which includes bus information and audio data. The lower PC is connected to the PC by RS232 serial port line, through the VC6.0++ MSCOMM control to receive serial data and processed by the upper PC’s software.In this system, using CC1101 wireless module acts as the public transport system of terminal nodes to save the vehicle’s basic information, such as vehicle’s ID. The gathering audio data derive from the microphones could be processed by C8051F330 module. When the data collection is completed, the wireless sensor network created by ZigBee CC2530 hardware platform implements the data transmission. The related data would be received by software on upper PC and then the software deal with it. That is the visual interface software developed by MFC technology depends on VC6.0++.Finally, this article tests the system. Through a series of experiment and practice, the system implements some function such as vehicle’s information and audio data’s collection, wireless transmission, data handler,data storage.etc, which is a real-time, stable system. And then, this system accords with expected demand of design and possess certain academic and practical value.
