With the large population and scarce land resources, the urban land growthboundary has been a hot topic in our country. To the cities located in specialgeographical environment, the landforms has become an important factor whichinfluence the shape of the city boundary. The landscape in north Shaanxi Provinceis a typical Loess Plateau landform, the numerous valleys and broken terrainshowing a typical dendritic structure, and with an obvious fractal geometry. thehabitat environment which grows in it is also linked to the geomorphology closely.Fractal theory has been Known as the geometry of nature, it is also a new worldoutlook and methodology. Fractal characteristics in Loess Plateau landscape hasbeen confirmed, it is the geometry formed by the self-organization of nature.Therefore, ecological security pattern which contained in the Loess Plateau fractallandscapes is often be considered the nature security status be in line with the lawsof natural growth. Loess Plateau has an unique topography, the habitatenvironment mostly grow in the gully valley terrain. But the contradictionsbetween rapid urban sprawl in Northern and the limit in landforms becomeincreasingly significant. The new large-scale begin expansion to the valley,evenshows an Leaps and bounds development, changing the topography environmentgradually, ignoring the ecological security pattern under the fractal landscapesconditions, and leading to kinds of urban problems. Therefore, from theperspective of ecological security in fractal landscape, the development andconstruction of land growth boundary have some reference value to the urban development of the towns in Northern Shaanxi.This study selected Mizhi County in northern Shaanxi as the study, targetedfor growth evolution and development of its land borders, analyzing its currentdevelopment features, landforms determine environmental impact of its borders.Based on fractal landscape spatial,analysis the urban land border requirementsand function space in gully region morphology, describes the principles andstrategies of its construction from the layout and spatial pattern of land forms.Interpretation of analysis by calculating fractal dimension and fractal landscape,Under construction principles determining growth boundary MIZHI specialtopography of the land on the basis of this theory. And that "Twiggy scatteredfocus groups, three-dimensional development" planning strategy. Seeking to thebuild strategic of urban growth boundary of land,and in order to providetheoretical considerations for the future of urban planning in Northern Shaanxi.
