Construction Technique And Quality Control Of Metal Curtain Wall Of Guangzhou International Sport And Entertainment Center

The constant improvement in construction techniques and the performance ofstructural materials has provoked a great deal of landmark constructions which are largein scale, unique in profile and sophisticated in the techniques employed to build them.The curtain wall structure and techniques employed to build such constructions hasmade breakthroughs to historical limitations and bring about higher standards in thedevelopment of curtain wall technology and the curtain wall project management.This thesis takes the multi-layer hyperboloid metal plate curtain wall with variedsteps of the Guangzhou International Sports and Entertainment Center as its object ofstudy. Focusing on the structural characteristics and the construction challenges of thisparticular curtain wall structure and collating modern curtain wall technologies, thisthesis discusses the technological difficulties and some new techniques in3Dholographic curtain wall modeling, the technique of measuring and setting out forhyperboloid curtain wall, the technique of building in wall framework, the technique ofbuilding curtain wall water proofing, and the technique of curtain wall heat preservation,which are brought about by the hyperboloid metal plate curtain walls of super-large sizeand heteromorphology. The project management objectives i.e. shortened constructionperiod, reduced construction cost, and solid construction quality have been achieved byresearching and resolving the technological and technical difficulties of the constructionproject.The successful application of the technique for the construction of multi-layerhyperboloid metal plate curtain wall with varied steps, which is the research subject of this thesis, provides valuable experience for the construction and management of novelmetal plate curtain walls and can serve as a good reference for the construction andproject management of similar curtain wall projects.
