The brake system is the important safety system for vehicle, besides the stopfunction, the subjective feeling of brake system is also very important, example, theBrake Pedal Feeling when stopping the car, and whether there is the noise from brakeparts. Brake system development is following the vehicle development process, how todevelop the brake system with good quality is the key task for vehicle development, thispaper will study for advance brake system, test and validation when the parts areavailable, and vehicle Launch and Warranty quality tracking, it’s not only to introducethe brake system development process but also introduce some quality tools used fordifferent development phase--QFD/DFMEA/DFSS and Red-X etc., the quality tools lare introduced for how to make sure the design to make the manufacturing process andquality more robust. There are some studies for the specific brake problem in local andforeign OEMs, this paper characteristic is to study the overall brake system development,and utilize the quality tool and Design Review for each development phase, and assurethe product whole life cycle from the advanced development to aftersales to docontinuous improvement, the development will be close-loop quality controlsystem—FRACAS, and it’s also close-loop quality control for every development phasebased on FRACS principle. The Warranty quality prevention and continuousimprovement are not good for local OEM so far, especially for local brand building, thispaper will bring the Warranty tracking and aftersales issue resolution innovatively. Thequality tools in this paper are not only for brake system development but for othervehicle subsystem. It is the important guidance for local and foreign vehicle profession.
