As globalization, urbanization and China’s continuous economic development areaggravating the fast-pace and high pressure of city life, city residents start to pursue theslow-paced healthy life style. After “Slow City “movement firstly appeared in Italy, laterpromoted and practiced in many small towns in China, the “Slow City” concept, is beinggradually accepted in China, and is especially appealing to city residents who are far away from“slow city”. Meanwhile, China is now facing the serious social problem of ageing society. Howto bring life security and comfortable living environment to elderly becomes a major challenge tothe whole society.Based on the basic unit of city-communities, the paper presents a integrated life carecommunity model, which enables city residents to relax and experience slow life during sparetime and lets elderly enjoy their retiring life. City planners can improve the quality of life of cityresidents and effectively mitigate the ageing society problem by promoting this kind ofcommunity model.Firstly, this paper includes following theoretical research:1. the concept of “slow city” and the related analysis;2. the concept of “integrated life care community” and the related analysis;3. the fitness analysis of “slow city” and “integrated life care community”, namely: How the“slow city”concept can be applied to the planning of“integrated life care community”, and howthe integration of “slow city” and “integrated life care community” concepts enriches andsupplement the concept of “slow city”.Secondly, from the community planning perspective, the paper brings following analysis:1. extract the elements and refine the features of “slow city” concept according to the fitnessbetween “integrated life care community” and “slow city” concept;2. determine the core content of planning an “integrated life care community” based on theelements and features of “slow city” concept;3. elaborate on how to construct an “integrated life care community” from the differentperspectives of physical environment, cultural emotional atmosphere, planning strategy andpolicy management;Finally, in practice, the paper gives following method and case study: present a case study ofBaiyun Mountain in Liqiao, Anhui province to show the application of “integrated life carecommunity” in real practice.
