The Planning Stratefy Of Morden Community Living Space Under The Concept Of "Slow City"

Slow City, a new mode of urban planning, has been flourishing over the past decadein Europe.An international city organization called “Cittaslow” was established, and anumber of typical "slow cities" around the world have already became its members.Slow City concept coincide with the domestic idea, Livable City. In the rapidlyurbanizing and transforming period, Chinese society is facing with the double-edgedsword of development: while the city economy and construction are developing in alighting speed, the living environment is worsening at the same time.The whole societyand planning academia are going to introspect city developing model of present, and theidea that building more ecological, livable and sustainable city becomes most urgentpursuit of the goal of citizens.As the carrier of human habitation, building high quality community environmentlies the core of improving living circumstances and promoting the harmonious coexistenceof man and nature, also the sustainable development of the city. In addition, thechanging needs of city residents about living environment, such as social, psychological,environmental, cultural and some other fields, require us to explore a urban living spacewhich is more humane and livable.For these reasons, in building livable and slow citieswe need to concentrate on people’s daily living circumstances, and explore the way ofdeveloping sustainable community with enthusiasm.In view of the reality, this paper analyzed the development status, definition standardand practical experience of”Slow Cities” and "Slow City Movement".further, on theaccount of community planning theory and case studies, it discriminated the limitationswhich based on the slow city development under the condition of our country, as well asthe applicability of "Slow City" values in the urban community development.Then,according to the concept of "Slow City" in building modern urban slow community, thepaper put forward specific slow community living space planning strategy from aspects oflands, transportation, history and culture, living ways and public space, and moreover builtinitial method system.Finally, combined with the Wuhan Baibuting community planningpractice, we explored the feasibility and scientificity of the policy method, and gave supports for the further improvement of the planning strategy and program optimization.
