Research On The Evolvement Of Tianjin Urban Fringe Space Development

With the opening and development of Tianjin new coastal region, the urbanspatial structure of Tianjin transformed from a single core to dual-core. Therefore, theurban fringe which located in the peripheral area of the central city is getting moreand more radiation and influence from both the central city and Tianjin new coastalregion. Then, under this new situation, the regional structure of the urban fringe whichcontains both the urban and rural factors shifts quickly, largely and sensitively, and itleaves a puzzle for the urban planners and managers to solve on how to lead the spacedevelopment and how to optimize the spatial structure of urban fringe.This paper introduces the concept, the characteristics and the methods ofdefining the scope of urban fringe by different scholars firstly, in order to definite theresearch scope. Secondly, introduces the theories of urban fringe space developmentand the evolvement of urban fringe space development of Beijing and Shanghai,hoping to give some guidance and reference to the development of Tianjin urbanfringe. Thirdly, gives an overall review of the development of Tianjin urban fringe,and make comparisons with Beijing and Shanghai urban fringe to analyze thedynamic mechanism and factors of the development in urban fringe under differentspace-time and socio-economic background, and summarize the general features ofChina urban fringe and the special ones of Tianjin urban fringe. Then, based on thestudy of the dynamics, the forms, the orientation and the organization mechanism ofTianjin urban fringe space development and the relationship between urban fringe andthe "double centers", summarize the rules of the evolution of Tianjin urban fringe.Finally, put forward the optimization proposals on the development of Tianjin urbanfringe from regional development pattern, spatial structure and spatial regulations.
