Jiaomen Waterway Bridge, with a total length of1043meters, is the key node forthe Huanglan Expressway (West)–the important project of Guangzhou, the pace ofcontruction for Jiaomen Waterway Bridge has a direct impact on whether the HuanglanExpressway (West) can be opened to traffic on schedule and will have further impacton the development for Guangfo City. The construction for the deep water cushion capof the main pier is the biggest construction difficulty for Jiaomen Waterway Bridge.It’s difficult to achieve the project target with general construction methods due to thedifficulties caused by the complex hydrogeology, limited construction area, impact oftide, tight construction schedule and accurate cost control. Therefore, this paperanalyzes the project management for Jiaomen Waterway Bridge and its deep watercushion cap steel sheet piling cofferdam.This paper establishes the project management system and set the project targetfor Jiaomen Waterway Bridge. The related project management team is organized andthe management system for quality, project schedule, cost, safety is established as well.Based on the main difficulty of the project for Jiaomen Waterway Bridge, namely theconstruction on deep water cushion cap, after comparing with the general constructionmethods, the reverse construction method with steel sheet piling cofferdam is selected.This paper introduces the technical processes for the reverse construction method withsteel sheet piling cofferdam and its key points of quality control, and analyzes the maintechnical data for this construction method. Furthermore, this paper analyzes andassesses the risk factors with this construction method, and related measures are introduced accordingly.The conclusions with this paper are beneficial for the implementation for projectof Jiaomen Waterway Bridge and its deep water cushion cap steel sheet pilingcofferdam and can help to achieve the project target.
