| Outdoor space of residential area is where the urban dwellers relax and release the pressure they encounter in their urban life. Strolling at outdoor not only can relieve the tension of building energy consumption, at the same time it is also a perfect place for the people to enjoy the fresh air and natural atmosphere. Outdoor environment is closely correlated with the amount of people, activity type and the duration of the activity. Highrise outdoor activity area is dedicated to provide a comfortable outdoor environment for the dwellers, fulfilling the functional purpose and deliver a better service to the dwellers. A very scientific approach, in terms of data collecting, analysis, simulation and etc., is employed in this research topic. The nature of outdoor activity area of highrise residential project in Shanghai has been defined in the study. The sample highrise residential projects that have been studied include Central Garden, Bao Hua Modern Town, Gubei Garden, Yanlord Riviera, Ya Bin Li Garden and etc. These projects are categorized according to its character and functional aspect prior to the study of the relation of daylight factor and the quality of outdoor activity area of highrise residential projects in shanghai. The subject study focuses on the area, field type, distribution, usage, activity type, activity type and time and the space composition of the outdoor activity area.Analysis is carried out in order to address the design issues in outdoor activity area and establish the relation between the constituent element of outdoor activity area and the comfort brought by daylight, and hence provide constructive suggestion to improve the design of outdooractivity area. |
