| The development of urban rail transit is accelerating in Beijing. Thecomprehensive development for urban rail transit stations is an approach whichis intended to coordinate the rail transit development with the land development.It may improve the urban spatial structure, adjust the traffic distribution, andrelease the traffic congestion. The implementation of this comprehensivedevelopment could also get significant social, economic and environmentalbenefits. However, due to the incomplete implementation mechanism, especiallylegal and institutional barriers, the implementation of the comprehensivedevelopment for urban rail transit stations in Beijing is still in slow progress.Based on the analysis of typical cases in Beijing and the comparison of relevantpractices in some other Chinese and international cities, the thesis has presentedspecific suggestions of implementation approaches to facilitate the applicationof comprehensive development for urban rail transit stations in Beijing,including the implementation mode selection, improvement of legal system, andoptimization of operational mechanism. |
