Urban rail transit plays an important role in the construction of urban transportation system with its advantages such as traffic volume,speed,environmental protection,and energy saving.Beijing has mature urban rail transit network,and it has quickly extended to the suburban areas.However,there are different development contradictions between the suburban and the urban area,especially the land use is scattered and complex.The development experience of the urban area cannot be applied to the suburban directly.From the perspective of theoretical,TOD focuses on the development of land use along the public transportation and road traffic under urban sprawl,but lacks the theoretical guidance for the suburbs.From the perspective of application,the paper takes the suburb of Beijing as an example to study the land use efficiency around the urban rail transit station,reflects the efficiency of Beijing’s urban planning.Following the research framework of the TOD,the paper takes the Beijing`s suburban rail transit stations as the research object.By collecting land use status data,remote sensing image data and POI data,to reveals spatial pattern of land use and the integrate development model around the 14 suburban railways and 92 suburban rail transits.First of all,the paper sorts out the existing theories and researches,focusing on the topics of suburbanization,rail transit and land use,TOD theory and index system,to discuss the TOD`s applicability in China.Secondly,from the rail transit line perspective,analyzing the relationship between rail transit and suburban,it is find that most suburban rail transit construction lags behind the suburban,so it faces a more severe shortage of land resources.However,the land use around suburban rail transit lines presents problems such as low utilization efficiency and poor land diversity.It has not been well applied to the integrate space,and there is a problem of wasting land resources.Thirdly,the paper proposes the logic,combining the existing index system,to construct a index system of land use around Beijing suburban rail transit stations,which contains function and land use,Traffic design and integrate space development.Basing on these indicators,the land use pattern of hub stations,central stations and general stations are measured.It is found that the hub stations perform best based on those indicator,Putting forward some principles aims at deficiencies and problems.Finally,A case study on Lishuiqiao station.Through field investigation and remote sensing image,combining with questionnaire survey,the paper summarizes the pattern of Lishuiqiao station by the indicator system.The paper found that there are many problems such as single land use type,poor accessibility of traffic connection,etc.In the end,putting forward some suggestions on Lishuiqiao Station land use optimization.The paper focuses on the land use around rail transit stations around the suburban area of Chinese metropolitan,exploring the applicability of TOD.The study finds that there are many problems such as single land use type,poor site accessibility,and waste land resource,etc.Therefore,on the basis of land,transportation and other TOD evaluation index systems,adding integrate space development.The paper finds that there are problems such as single type of land use and poor accessibility of traffic connections,etc.Basing on these problems,the paper proposes optimization suggestions such as improving the functional structure,optimizing the layout of land use,improving the connection traffic,and promoting three-dimensional development.
