The Study Of Elevator Safety Management In Zhongshan City

Nowadays more and more high buildings are built in the cities, following this trend thedemand for elevator and the usage of elevator are also growing. As an important means oftransport in the high buildings, the elevator provides us convenience, meanwhile it bringsa variety of safety issues, and a number of incidents already happened. This reflects thecurrent system for managing elevator has some “loopholes” and there is a need toimprove the safety operation of elevator. Prevention plays the most important role inoperating the elevator in a safe way. To reinforce the management of all aspects couldprevent a lot of accidents. This article describes the current status of elevator safetymanagement in Zhongshan city. By studying the typical elevator accidents, the surfacecauses of the accidents are analized, and the underlying problems can be seen such as lackingof safety conciousness; unclear responsibilities and rights; the imbalance of economicinterests and ect. All these problems seriously affect the safe operation of the elevator. Tooperate the elevator safely, prevention comes first.On how to prevent unsafe issues inmanagingthe elevator, this article suggests some solutions from five aspects: reinforcesupervision and management; improve laws and regulations; promote market-orientedelevator inspection system; build up theemergency response system and improvemanagement staff levels. This article also proposes some ideas on how to manage the elevatorbetter in the future.
