Along with the rapid development of cities in Chinais the promotion of Urban railtransit(URT).Large capacity, highspeed, safety, punctual,protectingenvironment,andeconomical use of energy andland, which is the advantage of URT,has become the commonrecognition and advance the URT construction and planning in cities.However, here are many disadvantages: long construction period, complicated technology,high maintenance cost, specially, high investment, which makes URT become a financialburden.In the URT system, modern streetcar, which is based on the advanced technology system ofelectric traction, vehicle brake, signals and communication, air condition is an environmentfriendly vehicle and will enter the fast development period benefiting from less investment,shorter construction period.This paper studies the modern streetcar cost-effective structure, and cost-effective toquantify the proposed modern streetcar cost structure model. City planning and line as anexample, the use of model calculations compare the subway and streetcar construction,operation and maintenance costs, and to assess the effectiveness of modern streetcargenerated from cost-effective in terms of passenger traffic carried out Preliminary study thesuitability of the construction of Dongguan and Suzhou modern trams.In this paper, different traffic situation on the cost-effectiveness of modern trams andsubway were compared, obtained determines the size of a modern streetcar traffic costs, andfrom a cost point of view, if you can build a low speed, no modern trams independent right ofway.
