River and its bed influence and restrict each other, and in the process ofdevelopment. In the process of interaction between river and river bed, sedimentmovement plays a link role, the river bed raise and is lower because the depositionand flushing of sediment. The qualitative and quantitative prediction to possiblesediment movement process and the river bed deformation, directly affects thedecision-making and success of water conservancy project. With the advent of thecomputer and the development of modern high-speed electronic computers, themathematical model and system simulation has been widely used. The mainly research contents as follows:(1) On the basis of systematic presentation to the research progress of bend flowand sediment, the paper is carried out.(2) A two-dimensional mathematical model of water and sediment is established,As to the numerical solving method, Galerkin lumping coefficient matrix finiteelement method are utilized, and achieve above algorithms by using Fortran.(3) The actual measurement of physical model coincide with the mathematicalmodel better, which shows the correctness and rationality of the mathematical model. And make analysis to the distribution characteristics of longitudinal and transversemean velocity. And make a prediction to the situation of sediment silting.
